Peggy, a lifelong resident of Catonsville, grew up on Oak Drive and attended Trinity School in Ellicott City. She met her high school sweetheart, Jerry, who lived just blocks away on Locust Drive. With tremendous artistic talent, she graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She pursued a career at WBAL TV news station in the graphic arts department as the first female graphic artist. After marrying and beginning a family, Peggy devoted many years as the Art Teacher at St. Mark School in Catonsville where her children attended. Peggy was a devout Catholic and received all of her sacraments at St. Mark Church. She regularly attended Mass and adoration and had a special devotion to the Divine Mercy. Through her valiant fight with cancer, she never wavered in her faith and declared no matter the circumstance, “Jesus, I trust in You.” Peggy was known for her kindness and compassion to all she encountered and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A Catholic Funeral Mass and a celebration of life reception will be held at a later date. For future updates on the date and time, please check here: facebook.com/MargaretPoisal.
