Margaret “Ellen” Swain (nee France) passed away April 24, 2025 with her family by her side. She was 2 weeks shy of her 102nd birthday. Born Mary 8, 1923 to Mildred and Jacob France.
She is predeceased by her sister, Helen Jarvis and brothers, James, John, Frank, and Jacob France.
Ellen is survived by her daughter Yvonne “Vonnie” Callaway and granddaughter, Shannon Callaway Sanders (Rob).
She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews, Pete Jarvis, John McClennen, Patricia Pastine and Jimmy France.
Family and friends may gather for a visitation on Monday, April 28, 2025 at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service taking place at 12:00 pm at the Candle Light Funeral Home, 1835 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 2805 Rogers Avenue, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
