Marion Lucy (Dicrispino) Feeney

Marion Lucy Feeney (nee Di Crispino) age 91 of Ellicott City, Maryland passed away on October 9, 2018. She was born in Baltimore in 1927 to Frank Di Crispino and Mary Grace Di Crispino (nee Reina) and was the youngest of four children. Marion was pre-deceased by brothers Frank and Joseph and sister Josephine Rita.

Marion attended Baltimore’s Seton High School excelling in Latin, Biology and Art, graduating in 1945. She attended Notre Dame College in the two years before starting her family in 1947. Later she graduated from Towson State University with a B.S. in Education. As an older student her education was of major importance. At her graduation, she received the Sarah Lawrence Award for being the best math teacher.

In 1955 Marion, her two children and husband, the late Aquin P. Feeney, moved to Randallstown, Maryland, where two more children joined the family. In 1970, Marion’s first grandchild was born. During that time Marion attended an education program at Notre Dame College called “Developing New Horizons for Women” later joining the faculty of this program. During this same period, Marion also received her real estate license so she could assist her husband with his real estate business. After her husband passed away in 1981, Marion handled the orderly dissolution of the company. During this new phase of her life, Marion studied Italian and travelled to Italy seven times visiting all the famous major cities as well as the birth cities of her Sicilian parents. In 2005, she moved from her Randallstown home of fifty years to Woodstock, Maryland where she was very active in her new community serving on various committees. Marion was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing books and movies always with deep insight. Marion was a very spiritual woman and a practicing Catholic.

In 2016, Marion moved to independent senior housing at Lutheran Village Miller’s Grant where she made new friends and enjoyed the community’s daily life and many social activities. Marion is survived by her four children James Christopher, Christine Mary, Marcy Ann, and Kathleen Yvonne and their spouses Bonita Lynn Feeney, Peter Gerald Solomson, Mark Eugene Klotzbach and Gary Leigh Brown as well as eight grandchildren Christopher Eric, Jennifer Ann, James Murray, Lisa Anne, Michelle Reina, Stacey Marie, Trevor Aquin and Dylan Frank and thirteen great grandchildren. All of Marion’s family agree that they are very fortunate to have had such a rare, compassionate, loving and caring role model in their lives such as Marion Lucy Di Crispino Feeney.

A visitation will be held at Candle Light Funeral Home 1835 Frederick Road Catonsville, MD 21228  on Friday October 12, 2018 from 3PM to 5PM and from 7PM to 9PM. A Catholic mass and internment will be held Saturday October 13, 2018 at 11:00AM at St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Catholic Church 10800 Old Court Road Woodstock, MD 21163.
