Mary Helen Klein

Beloved wife of the late William Francis Klein, Sr.; devoted mother of Bonnie Blottenberger, Christine Dunevant, Robin Elliott, Victoria Koski, Lisa Webster, and Robert Webster, Jr.; loving stepmother of William Klein, Jr., dearest sister of Shirley Jacobs. Much loved grandmother of 18 and great-grandmother of 33.

Helen was born on June 29th, 1929, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and moved with her parents to Baltimore in 1935. She attended Eastern High School when it was still an all-girls school, graduating in 1946 and proudly attending her fiftieth reunion in 1996. She married Robert Webster soon after graduation and raised six children.

Armed with her Eastern High School diploma and with a family to support after divorcing, Helen began a career as a secretary and administrative assistant in her early forties. After working for companies such as Converse and the Empire Corporation, she ultimately rose to the position of Executive Secretary to the President of Capitol Milk High’s Dairy before retiring.

In 1979, Helen married the love of her life, Bill, and welcomed his son Billy and his family into her steadily growing brood. She and Bill often hosted large family gatherings during the holidays in their West Friendship home. After Bill retired, they enjoyed spending time in their Ocean City vacation home, where she could usually be found doing the New York Times and Baltimore Sun crosswords in ink.

Helen never recovered from losing her Bill two years ago, and her health declined following his death. After falling and being taken to the hospital in early July, she insisted on returning to the home she shared with him, and passed away peacefully in her own bed the following week.
