Michael Lee Brady, 71, of Catonsville died suddenly on March 30th.

He was born July 28, 1948 in Baltimore. He grew up in Pimlico where he honed his love of baseball and the Yankees playing stickball in the streets. An excellent student, Michael earned a scholarship to Archbishop Curley High School where he played baseball for four years. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and became a Russian translator on a submarine during the Vietnam War. During his service in Japan, he met Akiko Furuya, whom he married. After returning from Asia, he worked for Social Security Administration for 40 years as a computer systems analyst. He continued his love of sports by playing softball for his Social Security Administration work team and golf with friends and family through retirement. He loved to fish and hunt with his brothers and best friend. Mike also enjoyed “2pint” lunches with Gary at Monaghan’s Pub in Woodlawn. He adored his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years, Akiko Brady; three daughters, Deborah (Christopher) Asher, Diane Chapman, and Dana (Griffith) Bell; son, Joseph Brady; stepdaughter Miyuki (Kyoshi) Tomita; seven grandchildren, Hiroki Tomita, Mason and Wyatt Bell, Katie and Jackie Asher, and Gavin and Avery Chapman; three brothers, Robert Brady, Edward Brady, James Brady; and two sisters, Charlotte Locke and Rose Hallquist.
