Michael Vincent Shea Profile Photo

On September 27th, Michael Vincent Shea died peacefully at home in Ellicott City.  Born in Washington, D.C., Mike grew up in Lanham, Maryland, and attended Dematha High School.  After graduating from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in business, he had a long and distinguished career in human resources, working at Marriott International and Morgans Hotel Group.  A life-long Dallas Cowboys fan, Mike enjoyed watching sports, playing poker, cooking, and socializing with his wide network of friends and family.  An avid runner, Mike competed in marathons around the country and was a member of running clubs in Maryland and Miami.

Mike will be long remembered as a kind and generous man who put the needs and feelings of others before his own.  With his outgoing personality and great sense of humor, people were drawn to Mike throughout his life.  In typical fashion, he faced terminal brain cancer with remarkable grace, strength, and optimism.  Although he was taken from us far too soon, Mike left an indelible mark on everyone who was lucky enough to call him their friend.  He is now at peace and reunited with his beloved father, Edward Vincent Shea.

Mike is survived by his mother, Micheline (Shea) Noble, and sisters Pat and Chris.
