Patricia (Pat) Drehoff, age 76, of Baltimore, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018, after an extended illness. Born July 22, 1941, Pat was the daughter of the late William and Molly Wentworth, of Brooklyn Park. She is survived by her two sons, Don (wife Kelly) and Dean (wife Michelle); five grandchildren, Zach (wife Stephanie), Kay (husband Felix), McKenzie, Jake (wife Tori), Paige; two great-grandchildren expected in the next few weeks (twin girls) and two brothers Bill (wife Mary) and Hank.
Pat graduated from Brooklyn Park High School in 1959, was named “Miss Poly” in 1958 and was an occasional dancer on Baltimore’s famous “The Buddy Deane Show” (part of the inspiration for the Broadway musical and movie “Hairspray"). While sacrificing to raise two sons, she spent 37 years working at C&P Telephone (now Verizon) as an executive assistant and training coordinator. Her last job before she fully retired, working for J. Crew at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, allowed her to combine a lifelong passion for stylish clothes with helping others find the perfect wardrobe items to shine. Pat was also able to purchase her first home in Bolton Hill, the neighborhood she adored, in Baltimore, the city she loved. And Pat was able to spend her final years under the dedicated and loving care of Springhouse Assisted Living, in Pikesville.
She loved the performing arts, was an avid movie goer and enjoyed traveling. Pat was very proud of her family, had many close friends that she invested and enjoyed spending time with, and absolutely adored her grandchildren. Her family would tell you that she loved to laugh and was infamous for her wacky, often wrong lyric and made-up-on-the-fly show tunes that kept everyone else in stitches. No doubt that there will be many fun "Mom-Mom Stories" for years to come that will help to keep her spirit alive with both family and friends alike.
Pat’s family will be receiving visitors at the Candle Light Funeral Home – 1835 Frederick Road in Catonsville – for a single viewing on Friday, June 1st, between 4-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the St. Hilda’s Episcopal Church (old St. Timothy’s) – 200 Ingleside Avenue in Catonsville -- on Saturday, June 2nd, at 10 a.m. The interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery – 5829 Ritchie Highway, in Brooklyn – at noon. A reception and celebration will follow, held back at St. Hilda’s, till 5 p.m.
