Patricia Duggan, 78, passed away April 26 after a long illness and a full life. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Her life was defined by faith, loyalty, strength, and sweetness. She cared for others, shared in their joys, took on their worries, and often placed others before herself.

Pat was born April 16, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, to Raymond and Mary Baker. As a young mother, she moved to South Florida, where she spent four decades raising her family, working as a bookkeeper and human resources professional for different employers. In 2000, she moved to Maryland to be closer to her children and grandchildren, and made many new friends. She retired from the Kane Company.

She was no longer married at the time of her death, and was previously widowed after the loss of husband William "Bill" Hole.

She was the devoted and loving mother of four sons: John, Jeff, and Jamie Martin, and Loren Duggan. Jamie preceded her in death, and she is survived by the other three sons and their families, including Jeff's children Jamie Martin, Joy Martin, Cory Butler and Alicia Ferrara, former daughter-in-law Linda Martin, and son-in-law Michael Keaton.

She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary Ellen Williams, and her niece Maggie Hiszak. Her nephews, Ronnie and Ric Williams, also preceded her in death.

She spent her final months in the care of Gilchrist Hospice Care, including a stay in their Columbia facility. She found great comfort from the doctors, nurses, and aides who cared for her.

Contributions may be made in her honor to Gilchrist Center Howard County via the Gilchrist website (https://www.gilchristcares.org/) -- please indicate the Howard County facility -- or by mail to the center at 6336 Cedar Lane, Columbia MD 21044
