On September 10, 2021, Paul Joseph DiComo, 70, of Catonsville, Maryland passed away peacefully with his wife at his side. Born on January 24, 1951, he was raised in Newark New Jersey. He was a graduate of Essex Catholic High School and attended Rutgers University, Newark.  Paul was the cherished husband of Susan Putnam, beloved father of Gregory (Dawn) and Michael (Rachel), and devoted Baba to Alexander and Grandpapa to Ginevieve. Also mourning his passing is his extended family, whom he held close in his heart, including his nephew Charles (Kimberly), great-nephew Thomas, great-niece Riley, sister-in-law Nancy and his many cousins. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lillian DiComo, and his beloved brothers, Charles and Joseph.

Paul turned a lifelong love of music into a decades-long career in the consumer electronics industry. Following his childhood in Newark, NJ, Paul got his professional start in retail sales at Lafayette Radio in Boston. Over the years he held managerial and VP-level positions in sales and marketing at NAD, Polk Audio, and Definitive Technology. In 2014, Paul formed CE Marketing Pros with partner Al Ballard, providing marketing services to consumer electronics clients. Paul leaves behind many friends in the domestic and international consumer electronics industry.

Alongside his beloved wife Susan, Paul spent his later years following his passions for live music, travel and fine dining. He was a bon vivant with a bold laugh and a big heart. A longtime fan of the classic rock bands of his youth, Paul’s enthusiasm for music encompassed genres as diverse as folk, progressive rock, jazz, and especially the blues.

Paul was a longtime history enthusiast. He believed that history was defined by the personalities and experiences of the people who lived it. During his last years Paul applied this interest to his own life, compiling a personal history and genealogy of the DiComo family.

Paul traveled extensively, whether for work or pleasure. He felt fortunate to have visited Germany, Spain, China, and Costa Rica. Exploring his family roots, he came to love many regions within Italy, particularly Sicily and the Amalfi Coast. At home, Paul enjoyed visiting historic sites and art museums in major cities throughout the United States.

The family will receive friends at the Candle Light Funeral Home in Catonsville on Saturday, September 25, from 12:00 - 4:00 PM with a memorial service to begin at 2:00. All are welcome to come for a minute or an hour, to cry, to laugh or to share an anecdote about Paul. Masks are required of all, regardless of vaccination status.
