Philip Taylor Foster, Jr., age 70, died peacefully at his home in Columbia, MD, on July 11, surrounded by his family. Mr. Foster was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1944, the son of Anne T. Foster (nee Sharkey) and Philip T. Foster, Sr. He grew up in Folsom, PA, and was a graduate of Ridley Park High School. After high school, Mr. Foster attended Wyoming Seminary, earned a BA degree in Political Science from Albright College, and studied at John Marshall Law School. He later served as an officer in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and eventually embarked on a 25-year career in loss prevention at United Parcel Service, based mainly in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Greenwich, CT. After retiring from UPS in 1995, Mr. Foster worked for several years at Quest Diagnostics in Baltimore, retiring fully in 2005 to enjoy his life-long love of golf and the beach. He was a long-time member of Crofton Golf Club in Crofton, Maryland, and Bear Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, SC, where he also enjoyed a vacation home. In 1979, Mr. Foster was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Palo Foster. Today, after 26 years together, Mr. Foster is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Avery Foster, his two daughters, Johanna Foster (Steven Palmer) and Heather Foster, his step-daughter, Jennifer Avery, and three wonderful grandchildren, Sophie Foster-Palmer, Kellum Foster-Palmer, and Daniel Ward. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A memorial gathering will be held at the Candlelight Funeral Home in Catonsville, MD On Friday July 25 from 11am-1pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association 1850 York Rd. Timonium, MD 21093
