Raymond Daniel Borucki

Raymond D. Borucki age 89 of Baltimore, Maryland passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday morning, February 4, 2020.  Born January 21, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Leo J. Borucki and Anna Borucki.

Ray was a respected business man and owner of Capital Sweeping and Repair corporation, and CSR Towing and Recovery. Ray was an Army veteran serving four years in Germany as a Army Air Corps aircraft mechanic. After the Army his love of anything mechanical and the smell of gasoline led him to become a part time race car driver, garage mechanic, and eventually a field technician for heavy equipment manufacture International Harvester.  Prior to International Harvester he took a contractor assignment as a power plant engineer and mechanic, building the first early warning stations, “The Dew Line”,  in Alaska. These were the first early warning radar system built during the early days of the Cold War. His work was critical to the protection of our country during the period of Russian and US nuclear power escalation. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling (Duck Pins) and performing with The Notables.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of almost 66 years, Delores J. (Dvorak) Borucki along with five children; Maryann and Michael Gray of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Raymond T. Borucki and Beth Williams of Linthicum, Maryland, Leona (Borucki) Brown of Parkville, Maryland, Edward Borucki and Kathleen Nitkowskiv of Rosedale, Maryland, and Jeanine (Borucki) Beliveau of Baltimore, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Jason Gray, Matthew Gray, Daniel Brown, Andrew Brown, Denise (Nitkowski) Campbell, Danielle Nithowski,  Thomas Beliveau, and eight great grandchildren.
