Raymond Lewis Carpenter was born on July 11th, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland, and was the beloved son of the late Gloria Jordan Carpenter and Raymond T. Carpenter. As a child he found joy and structure in athletics, in which he excelled. Ray attended Friends School of Baltimore, during which his athletic ability flourished, as he surpassed his peers on and off of the field. He graduated from Friends School of Baltimore in 1976, to seek higher education at University of Gettysburg. Not only was Ray talented in the classroom, his talents on the field granted him the privilege to be a two sport  varsity athlete for the Bullets Men's Lacrosse and Football team. With four years of tireless work ethnic behind him, Ray found himself graduating from Gettysburg with a Bachelor of Science In Sociology. Ray quickly found work after college when joining Segal- Majestic, which later became the company of Lifetouch. He found a promising career in sales where he became a standout salesman in his field for 29 years; being named Salesman of the Year multiple times . In 1997, Ray met Suzette and there was a palable connection between the two. They were wed on November 16 , 2001 at Martins West in Baltimore, MD. In the midst of a thriving career, Ray found time to give back to his community in the form of being a high school football coach. While some may find coaching a hobby, Ray found a new outlet for channeling his creative strategy in the relam of sports. His 26 year coaching began at Boys Latin, before leaving for Mount Saint Joseph, Marriotts Ridge, and Mount Hebron High School, back to Boys Latin in 2009.
Amongst the seemingly busy life Ray lived, he always made a point to show his friends and family how much he genuinely cared. Whether it be cheering at his children's sporting events or holding hands during a holiday prayer, Ray knew that simply being there meant everything. It was this unwavering sense of family that led to the undying affection from his loved ones, and, ultimately, his own happiness.
