In honor of Raymond Fok, who passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. He lived with his wife, Lana, in Maryland since 2004 near his son’s family. Raymond was blessed with a happy and healthy life for 84 years, which included many chapters where he was Husband, Father, Family and Friend to many.

Though born into a prosperous and honored family in Hong Kong, Raymond’s early childhood was severely impacted when the family fled the Japanese invasion to the mainland of China. Upon returning after the war, Raymond received a formal education that prepared him for college. As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he chose to attend Brigham Young University.

Raymond excelled in his studies as a mechanical engineer, and during summers, he worked in restaurants in California to help pay for his schooling. During one such summer, Raymond met the love of his life, Lana, whom he married soon after graduating. He soon transitioned to his new role as husband and father, a role he cherished for the decades that followed.

Raymond was father to his son, Michael, and was also a father figure to Terry and Misti who are Lana’s son and daughter. The family has now expanded to includes spouses, children and grandchildren. Raymond also enjoyed a successful career where he earned the trust and respect from those he worked with. He eventually retired from Xerox corporation after many years of service. Hard work enabled him to build his dream home in Palos Verdes Estates, where Lana and Raymond woke up every day to beautiful ocean views.

Besides family and work, Raymond had several passions that he shared with his friends and loved ones. He enjoyed fine food, and was himself a talented cook. The family still enjoys handed-down recipes for pot stickers, spareribs and hot pot. Raymond also loved to dance with Lana, his favorite partner. Together, they let the world be their dance floor as they had a zest for travel. Indulging their foody tastes, Italy was their favorite destination as evidenced by the beautiful paintings Raymond created in between trips.

Raymond enjoyed a life well lived - one with love, happiness and accomplishments. His memory and spirit will live on through all who knew and loved him.
