It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard George Hollenbach, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and retired Naval Captain, who left us peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 93. Richard was born on September 27, 1931, in Vermont, and devoted his life to serving his country with honor and commitment. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Grace Hollenbach, including sister, Charlotte Green and son in law, Joseph Giuliano.
Richard enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954, and dedicated nearly three decades of his life to military service, achieving the rank of Captain before his retirement in 1983. He was known for his leadership, bravery, and unwavering dedication to his fellow servicemen and women, embodying the values of integrity and excellence.
Richard is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy S. Hollenbach, as well as his loving children, Michael Hollenbach (Sharon), Christian Hollenbach (Susan) and Maria Giuliano (the late Joseph Giuliano). He was also cherished grandfather to Samantha Hollenbach, Daniel McKernan, Isabella McKernan Shaw, Johnathan Giuliano, Courtney Hollenbach, Sarah Hollenbach and adored great grandchildren, Braylon Hollenbach and Daniella Shaw. Including his niece and nephews, Connie Oberndoref, Mike Greene and Richard Greene. His loss will be felt by many other caring family and friends.
