Robert "Boog" Allen Kearney

Robert Allen “Boog” Kearney, 60, of Catonsville, Maryland passed away on March 15, 2019. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

Boog was born in Frankfurt, Kentucky to Jim and Betty Kearney on March 3, 1959, and was the fourth of five children. He grew up on Westgate Road and attended St. William of York School and Cardinal Gibbons High School. He was also a proud graduate of UMBC. He married Lita Aldave on June 9, 1984. They were married for 34 years and have three children and one granddaughter on the way. For most of his life, he worked as a sales representative for underground water piping systems.

As an avid sports fan and enthusiastic member of the community, he enjoyed coaching youth basketball. He coached his younger brother Patrick at St. William of York from 1977 to 1983 and his sons at St. Agnes School from 1996 to 2003. In high school, he played basketball for Cardinal Gibbons and was a top assist leader for his team. His years both playing and coaching basketball were some of his fondest memories. Boog was always willing to help others. Along with his sons and neighbors, he spent many weekends running a small lawn service (K-Bro), which brought him much joy.  Boog loved and supported his children. He was always ready to cheer them on or make them laugh.

He will be remembered for his big heart and welcoming nature that made all those who met him feel like a friend.

Boog is preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, David Frey and his mother-in-law, Patricia Aldave.

Boog is survived by his wife, Lita, his daughter, Jackie, and his sons, Ryan (Karen) and Sean, his siblings: Phil (Marguerite), Kathleen, Clark (Ellen), Patrick (Christie), and his many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Boog will be held Sunday March 24, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Overhills Mansion, 916 South Rolling Road, Catonsville, MD 21228
