On September 30, 2020, Ronald James Kvech, Sr., passed of Pulmonary Fibrosis peacefully, at his waterfront home in Ocean City, Maryland, with family by his side. Ron will be greatly missed by his brothers and their wives, Jerry & Sandy, and Raymond & Karen; Ron’s four children, Ronald (Ron), Jr., Joan (Joanie), Garry, Laurie; their spouses Lela, Susan, & Michael; his grandchildren, Andrew, Rachael, Erik, Jessie & Alex; & great grandchild James.
Ron was the third of five boys born at his childhood home in Baltimore, Maryland to Henry C. Kvech & Jeannette (Gambicki) Kvech. Henry & Jeannette were both born in the United States after their parents migrated from Europe.
Ron attended high school at Mount Saint Joseph College before transferring & graduating from Polytechnic Institute in 1954. Ron enjoyed college life at University of Maryland, College Park where he became & remained great friends with his college roommates. Ron was married for 55 years to his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Helen (Norris) Kvech (deceased), raising their family in Catonsville, Maryland.
Ron centered his energy in supporting & caring for the family he loved. He enjoyed being involved with his children’s & grandchildren’s team sports & activities, serving as scout leader, coach & fan. He worked hard to provide a Catholic education for his children. His children’s achievements serve as a tribute to his dedication to fatherhood.
After retiring as the President of Kane Transfer Trucking Company, Ron and Charlotte relocated to Ocean City, Maryland to enjoy the next chapter of their lives. Ron embraced a new career as a Realtor at Montego Bay Realty and enjoyed spending leisure time with his friends.
Ron was immensely devoted to Charlotte. They enjoyed countless journeys together. He named a star after Charlotte & would speak to her every evening from his deck before going to bed. Ron was happiest being with family & friends. He was a founding member of “The Camping Club,” aka the “Sip & Snackers”. Ron loved spending time on the beach, forests, mountains, as well as on his boat, and wave runner.
Regretfully, due to Covid-19, the family will be having a private service at The Candle Light Funeral Home on Monday, October 5, 2020.
