Sheila Marguerite O’Boyle Kulp, died Tuesday March 29th , 2016 after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her three children and loved ones. She was born June 1st, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and Marguerite O’Boyle. She grew up in Catonsville, Maryland with her three brothers and three sisters and attended Saint Mark School, followed by Archbishop Keough High School where she graduated in the class of 1979. She received her Bachelors degree in Computer Science from University of Maryland Baltimore County and went on to take graduate courses at Johns Hopkins University. She started her career working for Westinghouse, which became Northrop Grumman and worked there for 31 years as a Software Engineer.
She married Dale Kulp and raised her three children Allison, Joshua and Christopher in Catonsville, Maryland. She loved spending time attending their sporting events at Saint Mark School, Mount de Sales Academy and Mount Saint Joseph High School. She was an avid beach goer and always the life of the party. She is survived by her children, Allison Kulp who currently resides in San Diego California, 1st Lieutenant Joshua Kulp who currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts and Christopher Kulp who has lived in Baltimore, Maryland and was a caregiver to Sheila during her battle with cancer.
She is survived by her mother Marguerite O’Boyle of Catonsville, Maryland and her siblings: Kathleen Nicoll of Ocean City, Maryland, Joseph O’Boyle of Elkridge, Maryland, Mary Tirschman of Arbutus, Maryland, her twin sister Theresa O’Boyle of Kent Island, Maryland and John O’Boyle of Arbutus, Maryland. She is survived also by her sister-in-law Cathy O’Boyle, brother-in-law Scott Nicoll, brother-in-law Jeffery Tirschman, sister-in-law Siobhan O’Boyle, Michael DiMarzo, brother-in-law Bruce Kulp and sister-in-law Lisa Kulp both of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Colleen O’Boyle, Erin O’Boyle, Derek Nicoll, Brent Nicoll, Regina Nicoll, Alexis DiMarzo, Catherine Tirschman, Leah DiMarzo, and Lukas O’Boyle. She is predeceased by her husband Dale Kulp, father John J. O’Boyle, and brother Robert O’Boyle.
Visitation will be at Candle Light Funeral Home (1835 Frederick Rd, Catonsville, MD 21228) from 4pm-7pm on Friday, April 1st. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at Saint Mark Church (30 Melvin Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228) at 10am on Saturday, April 2nd.
