Shirley Anne (Realff) Ossing

Shirley Anne (Realff) Ossing, 87, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day May 14, 2017. Shirley was from Milford, Connecticut and the only daughter of the late Alfred and Anna (Donaghey) Realff. A graduate of Lauralton Hall in Milford, Connecticut and St. Vincent's College School of Nursing, Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was a practicing Registered Nurse when she put her career on hold to marry Henry A. Ossing in 1958 and raise a family.

Shirley had been a Marlborough resident since 1961. She was the proud mother of four sons – Michael, Daniel, Eric and Paul whom she truly cherished. Shirley continued with her nursing career at the Catholic Congregations in the City of Marlborough working with the Religious of the Good Shepherd,RGS, the Sisters of Saint Anne, SSA, and the Sisters of Saint Chretienne, SSCh,. Shirley was a devout Catholic and thoroughly enjoyed serving the Sisters.

Shirley loved her cats, especially Angel and Tippy. She loved to knit hats for newborn babies, decorate, color, and play Bingo with her friends at Christopher Heights in Marlborough. Shirley was devoted to her ten grandchildren – Kaylin, Cameron, Kathryn, Grace, Dave, John, Mary, Sarah, Rina and Luke.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Ossing of Edgewater, FL and four boys – Michael and his wife Linda of Marlborough, MA, Daniel and his wife Megan of Catonsville, MD, Eric and his wife Satoko of Kamakura, Japan, and Paul and his wife Yoko of Georgetown, MA.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Mark's Church, Catonsville, MD, followed by Interment at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriotsville, MD, where Shirley will be buried beside her beloved granddaughter Grace, who died in 1997 at the age of four.
