William “Billy” M. Sutton of Ellicott City, Maryland, born July 2, 1943, died October 22, 2021 at Gilchrist Hospice after an extended illness.
He is survived by his brother, Leonard E. Sutton, Woodstock, Maryland, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his lifelong partner, Alice Ridgely; brother, Robert Sutton of Germany; sisters, Mary L. Perry & Dora J. Hadel, both of Sykesville, Maryland; brother, George Sutton of Smith Island, Maryland; sister, JoAnn Rogers of Marriottsville, Maryland; and brothers, Richard and Jackie Sutton, both of Ellicott City, Maryland.
Billy served as Sargent in the US Army 101st Airborne Green Berets; having served two terms in Vietnam. He loved to tinker with cars, enjoyed motorcycles, and fishing. In later years, he was a fan of TV Westerns. Those who knew him would certainly say he lived his life as the song says, “I Did It My Way”.
Funeral services will be held at the gravesite on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11 A.M. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery, 2724 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, Maryland 21784. Services provided by Candle Light Funeral Home By Craig Witzke in Catonsville, Maryland.
