Alma Frieda Froede (Schultz), 92, of Catonsville, MD went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2019.  She was the loving wife of Ronald Froede, mother of Carla (Jim) Glasheen, Ronald (Melissa) Froede, Jr. and Craig (Barb) Froede;  grandmother to Christine and James Glasheen III, Michael and Scott Froede, Jacqueline Froede, and Ryan, Kyle and Cory Stoner and is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Alma was born on June 19, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland.  She received her teaching certificate at Towson State College and taught early elementary school for 9 ½ years. She continued to enjoy teaching young children in Sunday School for many years.

Ron and Alma met at Glen Burnie High School.  They started dating after his discharge from the Army and were married February 19, 1949.  They made friends easily and enjoyed doing activities with their friends, many of whom were from their school years (even from first grade!) This included playing bridge, travelling, and enjoying Alma’s delicious home-cooked meals.  She made everyone she knew feel special and loved with her smiles and laughter.

Alma especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her favorite memories were of the 16 summers spent at the beach with the whole family.  Christmas included a Christmas Eve open house with family and many friends dropping by, piles of presents under the tree, and holiday meals with her famous leg of lamb served to family that all managed to fit in one room.

Alma loved the Lord and especially enjoyed serving at her church, Christian Women’s Club and leading many Bible studies.  Alma’s faith, gentle spirit, love and kindness to all and servant’s heart are an inspiration to all who knew her.
