Catherine (Kitty) White, age 95, passed peacefully in her home on January 6, 2019 after a long illness. Kitty was born in Jessup, PA on September 6, 1923 to loving parents Cecelia and John Formica, and she enjoyed close friendships with her two older sisters, Lucy (McGinnis) and Marie (Zazzi). She attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse, and was proud to complete training for the Army Nurse Corps during WWII.

Kitty married Army veteran Patrick (Joe) White in 1948. They raised five children in Mine Hill, NJ: four daughters; Cathy (Frank) Vandeweghe, Mary Ann Curtin, Joan (Dave) Dunn, Tricia (Ron) Smith, and one son; Patrick White. Kitty remained close with all of her children throughout her life and delighted in the time she spent with them. She also treasured the time she had with her many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Kitty was blessed with nine grandchildren; Christine (Bill) Fritz, Erin (Randy) Force, Amanda (Trapper) Harris, Michael (Elaina) Dunn, Evan (Maggie) White, Lindsey (Davis) Rideout, Spencer Smith, Gary (Carolyn) Vandeweghe, and Kim (Topher) Gaylord.  She had 11 great-grandchildren, with the twelfth due to arrive in mid-January, all of whom brought her great joy. Kitty moved to Catonsville, MD in 2015 and quickly developed warm relationships with new neighbors and friends. She attended St. Mark’s Church.

Kitty was grateful for everything she had, especially her large and loving family, and was known for her positivity, sense of humor, and joy for life. In lieu of flowers, Kitty would want friends and family to make a donation to the group of their choice, so that the love she had for everyone would continue beyond her.
