Richard Michael Cursey

Richard M. Cursey, 57, died Wednesday August 7, 2019 in Catonsville, Maryland.

Born December 30, 1961 in Baltimore, Richard was the loving son of Helen. L. Hronec. He was predeceased by his father, Charles H. Cursey, and step-father Steve T. Hronec.

Richard graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1979.  In 1985 he graduated with honors from the Coast Guard.  He received several commendations for his service in execution of search and rescue missions while stationed in Alexandria Bay, New York.  He worked briefly for the Ocean City Police Department, also earning citations for his efforts and dedication.  The remainder of his career was in the dental service industry.

Richard had many interests including fishing, boating, NASCAR, football and baseball, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his friends.

He was a caring, helpful, and generous man, known for a hearty laugh and a giving heart.

Richard is survived by his mother Helen L. Hronec, sisters Carol L. Brookhart (spouse Jim Brookhart), Christine Clark, and brother David Cursey (Sue Safford), aunt Deborah Warfield, nieces and nephews (James, Ryan, April, Mary, Michael, and Hope),great nieces (Lily, Ella, and Jade), Pearl Scheidegger, and many cousins.
