Shirley Elaine (Green) Gavlin

On Saturday, October 21, 2023, Shirley Elaine Gavlin (nee: Green) passed away. Born to Wilbur and Esther Green (nee: Mullinix) on Sunday, November 18, 1945; she was 77.
Shirley is predeceased by her husband Robert Gavlin, brother, Malcolm Green and his wife, Fran; her sister, Joyce Day; and brother-in-law, Bill Day. She is survived by her nieces, Denise Green and Katherine Poole, and her nephew, Christopher Green. Shirley was also a loving Great Aunt to 14 nieces and nephews.
Shirley's smile was like a warm hug which could be felt by all in her presence. She loved listening and singing church/spiritual music and thoroughly enjoyed doing so for many years with the National Chirstian Choir and her home church. Shirley frequently spent time in service to others and loved hugging babies at St. Agnes Hospital nursery as a volunteer. Shirley also enjoyed traveling and going to the theater. Shirley's surviving family finds solace in the knowledge that her voice has joined the chorus of angels in the House of Our Lord and Savior.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:30am. The family will welcome guests for a Memorial Service at Candle Light Funeral Home Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 1:30pm; with a Memorial Gathering at 2:30pm.
