Susan Chiles Pillsbury

Susan Chiles Pillsbury, 84, of Catonsville, MD, passed away on October 16, 2022.  Born in Tulsa, OK, Susan graduated from Auburn HS in 1956.  After graduation, she moved with her family to Baltimore, MD.  She attended Towson State Teacher College, graduating in 1961.  She married Sterling “Steve” Pillsbury in 1963.  She taught 3rd grade for 4 years before starting her family.  She later completed a degree in nursing and worked as an RN at St. Joseph’s Medical Center until she retired in 2005.
She led an active life.  She participated in many road races, taught aerobics, took tap and jazz classes into her 80s and was a regular at the Y in Catonsville.  She loved knitting, sitting on the beach, a cold glass of chardonnay, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Scott Pillsbury (Heather), Lynne Smith (Russ) and Mark Pillsbury (Beth) and by her 12 grandchildren; Sean, Megan (Sam), Dominic, Rachel, Adam, Tessa, Grace, Ryan, Joe, Saint, Rowan and Cooper.  She is also survived by twin sister, Jane Saulsbury of Centreville, MD; brother and sister-in-law, J. Stephen Chiles (Judy) of Akron, OH and cousin Thomas K. Cox of Woodstock, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society .
