Walker Liam Holten

On November 30, 2022, Walker Liam Holten left his family and friends at the age of 23.  He was born April 14, 1999 and despite a rough start progressed toward a healthy infancy under the foster care of Ruth and Gunther Winkel. At eleven months old, he was on his next adventure as Michelle and Patrick Holten’s long-awaited son. About a year later, he became an official Holten. He prayed for a baby, so the universe sent him Bryan. Rosalie made her grand appearance a few years later, and Walker and Bryan were absolutely smitten with their new baby sister.

Growing up, Walker played multiple sports, including soccer, basketball, football, skiing and swimming.  He was exceptionally gifted on the drums and piano, and he loved to go fishing with his brother in Ocean Pines. In high school, he played football and participated in debate, and despite his best efforts to the contrary, graduated in 2017.

Walker was an avid skier but also loved the beach. Riding his motorcycle was his therapy and his happy place. He enjoyed being poked by needles in the name of art and for most of his life had luck on his side.

Walker leaves behind a multitude of friends and an extended family of loved ones. Walker is survived by his parents, Michelle and Patrick Holten, brother Bryan, sister Rosalie, family dog Harley and a cat he affectionately called Girl that he brought home to the family.  He is also survived by his grandmother Elizabeth Flynn and a collection of grieving uncles, aunts, and cousins too numerous to list.

Family & friends may gather at Candle Light Funeral Home on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm & 6:00 - 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will also be held at Candle Light Funeral Home Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Walker Holten to The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption .
